Simon Bailey

Simon Bailey has retired from the Metropolitan Police Service London after 30 years in late 2009. He has been a career detective with the majority of his service being involved in pro-active policing. During the last 20 years, he served 5 years on the Regional Crime Squad/ National Crime Squad, 5 years on the Scotland Yard ‘Flying Squad’ and for the last 8 years has been attached to the Metropolitan Police Technical Surveillance Unit based at New Scotland Yard, the last year of which he spent as one of the Detective Inspectors.
He has received numerous Crown Court Judges and Senior Police commendations for his work in complex investigations involving case management and Public Interest Immunity in covert operations. Recent years have seen him involved at the highest level in the planning and execution of technical deployments against Organized Criminal Networks and in Terrorist Operations.
He has regularly conducted presentations on behalf of the London Metropolitan Police in relation to Covert Police techniques in Europe (ISIS) and the United States (NATIA). For the last 5 years he was involved in the training of police operatives and senior police officers in technical covert deployments. He has extensive knowledge of RIPA (Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000 and the Police Act 1977. He brings to the company considerable experience in the undertaking of risk management in the most sensitive of current police operations and looks forward to using this expertise in the commercial world.
